The Smart Annotation feature is launching now in beta.

The biggest feature in the updated apps is compatibility with the Apple Pencil. Users will be able to draw, sketch, and write using the Apple device.

Another new feature, Smart Annotation, is launching in beta for Pages. It will allow users to give, receive, and incorporate feedback with an Apple Pencil. Any comments will anchor to the specific text.

Pages users will now also be able to create interactive digital books. Starting with a number of templates, and then customize it with drawing tools or image galleries. The book creation feature also allows real-time collaboration.

A Presenter Mode in Pages will allow text to be read in a teleprompter like mode thanks to adjustable speed, text size, and more.

All three parts of the iWork Suite – Numbers, Keynote and Pages – can be downloaded now on the App Store. The apps are compatible with the iPhone and all iPad models. Updated Mac versions of the apps will also arrive today on the Mac App Store.
