Apple Research App Updated With Two New Additions
In the Apple Hearing Study, a new test will help to understand the hearing under various conditions, including background noise. The study collects noise data to see how exposure will affect hearing over time. It will also research how noise levels can effect stress levels and cardiovascular health.
The Apple Movement Study has a new survey to help understand the impact of COVID-19 on daily life. That study requires a Series 1 or later Apple Watch and record workouts to better understand how movements can better provide insight into someone’s current and future health.
Originally launching in November, the app also includes the Apple Women’s Health Study. That is looking to better understand menstrual cycles and how they relate to various health conditions like infertility and osteoporosis.
All data is only shared when you approve. There is also a clear enrollment flow with detailed consent. You can also control what type of data is shared with researchers.
The Apple Research app is free and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
