Apple Unveils a Free Sports App for iPhone
Sports fans rejoice. Apple has just released a new Sports app with real-time scores, stats, and much more about almost any sport you can imagine.
To best customize the app, you can build scoreboards by following specific teams, tournaments, and leagues. With just a few taps, you can move between scores, upcoming games, lineup details, and more.
Thanks to integration with the Apple TV app, you can go directly from the Sports app to watch live games from Apple and other connected streaming apps.
The app will also sync with favorites selected in the My Sports experience in both the Apple TV app and Apple News.
You can currently access information from these leagues:
MLS
NBA
NCAA basketball (men’s and women’s)
NHL
Bundesliga
LaLiga
Liga MX
Ligue 1
Premier League
Serie A
Apple will add MLB, NFL, NCAAF, NWSL, and WNBA for their upcoming seasons.
Apple Sports is a free download for the iPhone.
With Apple’s emphasis on live sports streaming like Friday Night Baseball and MLS League Pass, an app like this isn’t a real surprise. It will be interesting to see how the app changes and improves.
