Apple Unveils the AirPods Max Over-Ear Headphones

For maximum comfort, the headphones canopy features a breathable mesh to help distribute weight and reuse the on-head pressure. The headband is made to be comfortable for different head sizes.

Each ear cup attaches to the headband with a unique mechanism that can independently pivot and rotate to better fit your head. The cup is covered with engineered memory foam for a seal.

A Digital Crown, taking inspiration from the same button on Apple Watch, allows you to control volume, activate Siri, control tracks, and more.

The headphones feature adaptive EQ, active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and spatial audio.

With active noise cancellation and spatial audio enabled, the AirPods Max can provide up to 20 hours of use. Apple provides a Smart Case with the AirPods Max to put the headphones into a low power state to help preserve battery life.

The AirPods Max are available in space gray, silver, sky blue, green, and pink.

You can order the $549 headphones starting today. They will officially arrive on Tuesday, Dec. 15.
