Apple’s wireless AirPods won’t arrive this month. The news was first reported by TechCrunch.

When needed, a 15 minutes charge in the included case will provide up to 3 hours of music playback.

“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson said to TechCrunch.

Apple declined to state whether the delays is caused by software or hardware issues. There’s no word on when the earphones will ship.

Originally unveiled back during September’s iPhone 7 event, the $159 AirPods have no wires and are charged in a small case. Featuring Apple’s W1 wireless chip, Apple says you can listen up to 5 hours of music before needing to recharge the earphones. The case can provide up to 24 hours of music playback. Fifteen minutes of charging can provide up to three hours of music in a pinch.

Instead of needing to go through a pairing process, the AirPods can connect automatically to all Apple devices including an iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, and Mac.

The W1 chip powers two Beats-branded devices already on the market – the Powerbeats 3 Wireless Earphones and the Solo3 Wireless On-Ear Headphones.

During a special media event on Thursday, Oct. 27, Apple is expected to unveil a number of new Macs.
