Apple's GarageBand Receives Nice Update with Alchemy Creative Synthesizer and More
It’s time get rocking. Apple’s GarageBand app has just received a number of new features with an update to version 2.2.
Made for music
The app features a redesigned sound browser to help make it easier to explore touch instruments.
The biggest addition to the app is the modern synthesizer Alchemy. Well-known to Logic Pro X users, it provides more than 150 Apple-created patches from different music genres like EDM, hip hop, indie, rock, pop, and others. A special Transform Pad allows musicians to switch between eight sonic snapshots at one time.
With the redesigned sound browser, iPhone and iPad users can explore touch instruments quickly and find the sound they want.
As the name suggests, multi-take recording allows users a number of times to record their best performance and allows switching between different takes.
Other additions include a new-look Audio Recorder that provides a number of one-tap vocal affects and more professional features like pitch correction.
