Audiobook App Scribd Lands on the Apple Watch
The great audiobook service Scribd has recently made its way to the Apple Watch with a recent update.
Using the app on the wearable device, you can now listen to audiobooks with any Bluetooth headphones like Apple’s AirPods line or an external speaker.
The app is also standalone. That means you can use it to listen to content even without a nearby iPhone. You’ll just need a cellular or Wi-Fi connection on the watch.
You can access saved titles on the watch in the Saved section. The app will also show the currently playing title and most recently played title.
On the watch, you can also access playback controls including play, pause, skip, and volume. Other controls include sleep timer and playback speed from 0.8x to 2x.
Scribd is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
You’ll need a subscription for $9.99 per month.
