CARROT Weather Update Brings Great New Features for iOS 15
Now that iOS and iPadOS 15 is here, CARROT Weather has just been updated with some great new features for the latest Apple software.
XL iPad Widgets, Themes/Icon Sets and More
Anyone with an iPad can now take advantage of the new iPad XL widgets size with the app’s forecast and maps widgets.
You can now also customize the background, accent colors, and icons used throughout the app with a number of different options. There is also a redesigned details screen.
The app’s rain, lightning, and weather alert notifications are now tagged as time sensitive so you’ll still see them even when using the new iOS 15 Focus feature. You can also sign up to receive alerts for warnings NOAA will carry a likelihood of considerable or catastrophic damage.
And Apple Watch users haven’t been left out of the new features. A smart complication option will allow you to choose thresholds for different data points that can appear as a complication. Your watch face will show the highest priority selection as conditions changes.
There are also nine new secret locations to find and an achievement to unlock
CARROT Weather is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
With the free version, you can find weather conditions on an iOS device or Apple Watch, change CARROT’s personality, and search for secret locations. Access to any other features will require a subscription.
There are three subscription levels:
Premium ($4.99/month or $19.99/year) provides additional features like weather data sources, notifications, customization, widgets, and Apple Watch complications.
Premium Ultra ($9.99/month or $39.99/year) includes all the features of Premium, plus rain, lightning, and storm cell notifications (where available), a weather maps widget, and quick data source switching.
Premium Family ($14.99/month or $59.99/year) includes all the features of Premium Ultra, with the added benefit of being shareable with up to five family members via Apple’s Family Sharing service.
