Citymapper Gets Into the iMessage Fun, With 3 iMessage Apps
Citymapper, the popular transit app, is one of the many apps that’s jumping on the bandwagon on day one of the official release of iOS 10. And it’s doing so with not one, not two, but three iMessage apps of its own.
Share your location with Citymapper
“So you’re texting someone. Where are you. I dunno, where are you? I dunno, when are you going to get here? I dunno. Etc. This is tiresome.” That’s Citymapper pointing out the problem that it would like to get rid of with its new iMessage extension, which enables you to automatically send your location via iMessage. Apart from your current location, the Citymapper iMessage app lets you share your home and work addresses and your favorite locations. The recipient will then see a little map that she can tap through to get directions to the location you sent.
Get sticky with Stickymappers
Citymapper has also just released a dedicated sticker pack for iMessage in the form of Stickymappers, featuring itinerant cartoon characters drenched in Citymapper’s trademark green. Like other iMessage stickers, the so-called Stickymappers may be sent as standalone messages and may also be dragged and stuck onto other messages in a conversation.
Get moving with Giffymappers
Not content with the static stickers of Stickymappers, Citymapper is also introducing animated stickers by way of Giffymappers. “These stickers are alive,” Citymapper notes, “built with love and care, with transport themes like ‘I’m late’ and ‘I’m lost,’ sending them to people will result in waves of delight, and you being forgiven for all your sins.”
Download the apps
To download any of the apps within iMessage, open the iMessage App Drawer, tap the Store icon, and search for “Citymapper,” “Stickymappers,” or “Giffymappers.”
Citymapper and Stickymappers are both available for free, while Giffymappers costs $1.99.
