At Duke, Bloomfield helped create an early ResearchKit project, Autism & Beyond, which uses video analysis to screen for behavioral conditions like autism and anxiety.

Several doctors have recently been hired by Apple, including Dr. Stephen Friend, the president and co-founder of Sage Bionetworks, which helped build the infrastructure for several ResearchKit apps.

Bloomfield’s role at Apple hasn’t been announced. Most certainly, it will focus on HealthKit, ResearchKit, and the recently introduced CareKit.
