Experience a Lovecraft-Inspired Gamebook in Omen Exitio: Plague
Fans of H.P Lovecraft should check out the new game Omen Exitio: Plague.
The new game is inspired by gamebooks of the 80s and 90s. Expect a mix of the horrifying Lovecraft-created universe with an original plot and characters.
How the game progresses will depend on your chosen skills and and choices. You character will develop in numerous ways through an RPG-like character sheet that will show how you interact with characters and surroundings. All of that will effect the different game possibilities and endings.
Unlike many choose-your-own adventure games, you can not meet an early demise.
Set in 1896 Zanzibar, you are Dr. Jake Huntington who enlisted in the army to forget the tragic loss of his wife. But something sinister and ancient is about to change his life forever.
Shadows that inhabit reality seem to be converging at one place in a terrifying disease that could wipe out the entire human race. But that’s far from the only problem as the disease is only one piece of a vast mosaic that may be very difficult to understand.
The doctor will need to cross a threshold that many have lost the way to connect all of the dots.
During the game, you will encounter a number of famous historical figures based on real events.
You’ll enjoy hundreds of hand-drawn visuals that will help create the otherworldly scene. There is also a haunting soundtrack and sound design to color the game.
One play through of the game takes anywhere from 4 to 6 hours, but you can definitely spend more time experiencing everything the game has to offer.
Omen Exitio: Plague is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It’s a $3.99 download on the App Store now.
