Explore the Moon in 360 Degrees in Apollo 360VR
You can experience the Moon like an astronaut in the new app Apollo360VR.
The VR app provides a 360-degree experience of all six Apollo landing sites. All of the panoramas were assembled from images captured by the astronauts. Each one also includes a virtual Sun and Earth.
Using an iOS device accelerometer, you can move an iPad or iPhone around to see a full 360-degree view. There is also a VR Googles mode that allows you to put your iPhone into a VR headset adapter.
Along with the unique visuals, the app features mission audio as spoken by the astronauts to mission control when the panoramas were captured.
You can also make use of optional narration and annotations to identify the Moon features and read a detailed description.
Apollo360VR is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It’s a $2.99 download on the App Store.
