GameClub is Apple Arcade for Fans of Classic App Store Games

And the new GameClub is doing the same thing with a big retro twist.

The new service, which also costs $4.99 per month, has launched and features more than 70 classic App Store titles available to download. Many of the games have disappeared over the year and were never updated to 64-bit titles or the larger iPhone and iPad screen sizes.

You can take a look at the complete game list here. Most of the titles are probably familiar to long-time App Store gaming fans and include Incoboto, Super Crate Box, and many others.

Like Apple Arcade, GameBox is planning to add more games to the service.

All of the different games are free of in-app purchases and ads. You can also play all of the games without an Internet connection.

The main GameClub app is the hub for the service and showcases all of the different games available to download and even includes behind-the-scenes stories and guides about some titles.

When you find a game in the app, it offers an easy way to download it.

You don’t need to be a subscriber to join in on the fun. If you’ve previously purchased a game when it was available on the App Store, you can redownload it using the GameClub app. That’s because the service has rebuilt all of the titles for the modern App Store.

The GameClub app is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. There is a free, one-month trial to the service.

If you’re a fan of classic App Store games, GameClub offers a great way to relive some of those iconic titles on today’s iOS devices. The launch catalog is definitely impressive, and I’ll be interested to see what other games are added in the future.
