Garmin Introduces iPhone-Connected VIRB 360 Action Camera
Garmin has announced a new action camera for iPhone. The VIRB 360 is capable of shooting 360-degree video at 4K resolution and 30 frames per second.
Priced at $799.99, the waterproof VIRB 360 supports resolutions up to 5.7K and 360-degree audio. It includes built-in GPS and sensors for augmented reality G-Metrix data overlays. Thanks to 4K spherical stabilization, video remains smooth regardless of camera movement. Videos and photos are automatically stitched in-camera, which allows for fast sharing as well as live streaming.
According to Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales:
VIRB 360 owners will no longer need to worry about trying to capture the perfect angle or setting up the perfect shot. The camera’s easy-to-use feature set will make even the most inexperienced users look like experts.
Other features include:
- 4 built-in microphones capture 360-degree audio
- Easy-to-use, free VIRB Mobile app and VIRB Edit desktop software let you edit, stabilize, share and add data overlays to videos
- Constantly record for more than 1 hour on 1 charge — without overheating
The VIRB 360 launches in June and will be available through B & H, Amazon.com, and other retail locations. Hopefully, we’ll get our hands on a VIRB 360 soon for review purposes.
