Fowers Games’ Turning is an Upcoming Minimalistic Puzzler
With the Game Developer’s Conference in San Francisco all wrapped up for another year, we did manage to find some mobile indie gems amongst all of the big-name console titles on the show floor. One of those nice surprises is Fowers Games’ Turning. Fowers Games Inc are the same developers behind Paperback: The Game.
Minimalistic Puzzle Fun
Clear as many slingshots as you can from the board.
While there are many minimalistic puzzle games on the App Store these days, there’s always room for some refreshing innovation, and Fowers Games’ Turning delivers.
In Turning, players will be greeted with a grid and you’ll have to tap on an empty square to place a slingshot there. Once the slingshot is placed, it will fire off a ball in that direction. Each individual slingshot must shoot a ball four times before it is able to be cleared off of the board. After a slingshot fires, it rotates 90 degrees clockwise, so you have to keep this in mind to get chain reactions for more points. When the grid becomes full, then you lose and have to try again.
While the basic game premise sounds simple enough, things get more challenging as you progress. This is because there will be bombs, mirrors, and other obstacles that’ll make progression harder and harder.
As a big fan of minimalistic puzzlers, Turning is definitely one to keep an eye out for.
Coming Soon
Fowers Games plans to release Turning in a couple of weeks, so it should not be much of a wait at all if you’re eager to get your hands on it.
Meanwhile, make sure to check out their other game titles, including the awesome word game, Paperback.
