Google Maps Update Brings iOS 10 Widgets and More Features
Google has just issued a notable update to the official iOS app of its Maps service. Introducing several new features, the update gives more reasons for users to continue or switch to using Google Maps instead of Apple’s default navigation app on iOS.

On a place’s details page, you can scroll down and tap to see further descriptions and find out more about the place. Check out what you can expect from the place, including its features, amenities, crowd, highlights, atmosphere, and more.
Add photos to reviews
Reviews are helpful, but the text they contain can only go so far in providing an overview of a place. As the saying goes, “A picture is worth a thousand words.” So go ahead and upload photos to visualize and contextualize your reviews of places.
Access widgets
Google’s optimization for iOS 10 includes new and improved widgets for Nearby Transit and Travel Times, able to expanded for more information. Departure times and ETAs are just a few swipes and taps away.
The latest update to Google Maps for iOS also delivers bug fixes to improve the app’s performance and stability.
