There’s no need to panic if you have a Thunderbolt Display and want to attach it to one of the new MacBook Pros announced at today’s special media event.
Available to order now
Apple has just released a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 USB adapter. It can connect devices like the Thunderbolt Display to any of the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) ports on the new laptop.
If you have macOS Sierra, it can also connect new Thunderbolt 3 devices to a Mac with a Thunderbolt or Thunderbolt 2 port.
You can purchase it now for $49 directly from Apple’s online store. The earliest available delivery is Friday, Nov. 4.
According to AppleInsider, the adapter will be available at local Apple retail locations starting next Tuesday, Nov. 1.
