Holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons won't work anymore

The Apple iPhone 7 features a new solid-state (non-mechanical) Home button. As a result, there’s a new way to hard reset iPhone 7 when necessary.

Before now, doing a hard reset on your iPhone required holding the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons simultaneously for five seconds. This process won’t work on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

Instead, to hard reset your iPhone 7, hold down the Sleep/Wake and Volume Down buttons until you see the Apple logo.

Apple notes that you should only force restart your device as a last resort and “only if (the handset is) not responding.”
