Hot Wheels: Race Off Brings Your Favorite Toy Cars to Your iOS Device
For almost five decades, Hot Wheels have been enabling enthusiasts, young and old alike, to go wild with various vehicles, tracks, and play sets. Now, Mattel’s popular line of die-cast toy cars have made its way to mobile by way of Hot Wheels: Race Off.
Hot Wheels: Race Off is a physics-based racing game that looks and plays like the hit off-road racer MMX Hill Climb but with Hot Wheels branding. That should come as no surprise, though, considering that Hot Wheels: Race Off is the result of a partnership between Mattel, the owner of the Hot Wheels brand, and Hutch, the developer of MMX Hill Climb.
Race ’em
Race Hot Wheels cars in more than physics-based tracks across various environments, including city, canyon, and dark forest. Upgrade and collect all 30 vehicles from the Hot Wheels 2017 lineup, including original designs like Sharkbite and life-size cars like the Rip Rod.
Stunt ’em
Perform stunts with the aid of jumps, loops, and boosters along the Hot Wheels brand’s iconic orange track. Do you have what it takes to do a back flip? How about a wheelie?
Challenge ’em
Hot Wheels: Race Off features a multiplayer mode that lets you challenge your friends as you progress through the game’s 40 levels.
Although its car physics and graphics could use some improvement, Hot Wheels: Race Off nonetheless does a great job at paying tribute to the look and feel of the eponymous brand, which many a toy-car aficionado play and love. But even if you’ve never heard of Hot Wheels before, as long as you have the slightest interest in mobile racing, you’re likely to end up playing and loving Hot Wheels: Race Off as well.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Hot Wheels: Race Off is available now on the App Store as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases for in-game currency and additional content.
