Houzz App Update Brings New AR Tool for Users to View Different Tile Floor Options

April 23, 2019

The popular home renovation and design app Houzz has just been updated with another great augmented reality feature.

Part of the View My Room in 3D feature, users can virtually cover a space with tile and see what the room would look like with a number of different flooring options.

To take advantage of the feature, select the View in My Room 3D option in any compatible tile product. It will then launch the iPhone or iPad camera.

You’ll then need to scan the floor and point the camera at each corner of the room the create a perimeter. The app will then show the tile product in 3D on the room’s floor. It will also estimate the amount of tile needed for the project and cost.

The tile can be added to a cart for quick checkout or be saved to an idea book to share with others.

The Houzz app is designed for the iPhone, all iPad models, and the Apple TV. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
