A rundown of some of the improvements.

While iOS 9.3 was the most notable improvement, fourth-generation Apple TV and Apple Watch users can now download respective updates of their own – tvOS 9.2 and WatchOS 2.2. The new software for the set-top box addresses a number of big user complaints since the hardware was originally released in October.

Some of the changes include the ability to create folders for apps, support for iCloud Photo Library and Live Photos, and Siri dictation. But easily the most-welcomed feature is the ability to use a Bluetooth keyboard. Instead of having to use the Siri Remote to slowly enter long strings of text like a username or password, you can just whip out a keyboard and quickly and easily type out what you need.

Here’s a quick primer on how to pair a Bluetooth keyboard with the new software and five Bluetooth keyboard options you should take a look at.

Make sure you’re running tvOS 9.2

Make sure you’re running tvOS 9.2

You can quickly view what software version you're running by headed to Settings, General, and About.

The first step is to make sure your Apple TV is running tvOS 9.2. Head to Settings, General, and then About. As you can see, even though I had turned on the automatic update feature, my device was still running tvOS 9.1.1. If you’re up to date, you can skip the next step.

Downloading and installing the update just takes a few clicks on the Siri Remote.

Updating is quick and easy. Go to Settings, System, and then Software Updates. The update will be downloaded and then installed on the device automatically.

After you’re running the newest software, it just takes a second to pair any Bluetooth keyboard. Go to Settings, Remotes and Devices, and then Bluetooth. Make sure your keyboard is in pairing mode, and then you will see it listed under Other Devices. Just select it with the remote, and it will automatically connect.
