iHeartRadio Now Offers Free Playlist Radio on iOS, Android and Desktop
Playlist Radio is a new feature now available to all iHeartRadio users, regardless of subscription status. The feature allows you to find music based on your mood, activity, genre, era, or unique moment in life.
Restrictions remain
Available on iOS, Android, and desktop, the new Playlist Radio feature was previously available only to iHeartRadio Plus and iHeartRadio All Access on-demand music subscribers. To get started, just tap the Playlist tab on iHeartRadio to find a playlist to match your mood.
Though iHeartRadio has opened Playlist Radio to non-paying users, restrictions do remain. You can’t create personalized playlists or shuffle/skip existing playlists with membership in iHeartRadio Plus or iHeartRadio All Access. You also can’t listen to music offline.
Regardless, iHeartRadio’s decision to remove some of its paywall to mobile device users is significant. You can’t listen to playlists through Apple Music without a subscription, after all.
