Code in iOS 11.3 Suggests a Future iPad Pro With Face ID
Code found in the first beta version of iOS 11.3 is suggesting that a future iPad ProP model could be sporting the same Face ID technology found on the iPhone X.
On Twitter, iHelpBR’s Filipe Esposito showed specific references to a “modern iPad” in iOS 11.3.
That reference is notable because before the iPhone X was officially released, earlier software versions referred to it as a “modern iPhone.”
This isn’t the first time we’ve heard that Apple would be adding the TrueDepth camera system and Face ID to the iPad Pro. Back in October, noted analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the technology would indeed be coming to the tablet.
By adding Face ID, Apple would more than likely remove the Home button from the tablet. That could lead to thinner bezels and more screen area.
