The Logitech Rugged Combo for Apple’s New iPad is Designed for Education
Just after Apple officially unveiled the new lower-cost 9.7-inch iPad, Logitech has unveiled Rugged Combo designed only for educational use.
Made for the classroom
The combo itself is made of two distinct parts – a Rugged Case and the add-on keyboard.
Designed to protect the iPad from drops of up to six feet onto hard surfaces, the case sports soft polymer ribs that flex on impact. Users can also take advantage of a detachable screen cover.
Since the newest iPad doesn’t feature a Smart Connector, Logitech’s keyboard will connect to the case using a proprietary solution that also draws power directly from the tablet. It offers a dedicated row of shortcut and function keys to make using it with the iPad even easier.
With all of the options made for classroom use, no prices were announced. The Logitech Rugged Combo will be available to purchase starting later this week directly from Apple’s education purchasing system.
Starting at $329 for a 32GB model and also available in a 128GB version for $429, the iPad isn’t compatible with the Apple Pencil or Smart Keyboard.
