The long-rumored change is here. Apple is moving the Mac to its own chips just like the iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, and Apple Watch.
And there is big news for the iOS App Store. All iPhone and iPad apps will be able to run natively on Macs with Apple’s chips.
During today’s Keynote, Apple’s Johny Srouji showcased playing Monument Valley 2 and running the Calm app on a Mac with the new chip.
You’ll be able to download iPhone and iPad apps directly from the App Store on a Mac.
The first Mac for purchase with the Apple-designed chip will arrive later this year.
