Did McDonald's Just Out Apple's Next iPhone in a New Ad?
McDonald’s is known for its burgers and fries. Today, however, it might have gained a new title, master Apple leaker, according to 9to5Mac.
In a new promotional email running in Australia, the fast food giant has included an unofficial “iPhone 8” design to display screenshots of the company’s mobile app. The mockup used in the ad was first introduced by Apple leaker Benjamin Geskin earlier this year.

As 9to5Mac explains:
It’s unclear if the McDonald’s promo is an honest mistake in an attempt to use a generic-looking but modern smartphone rendering for its promo, or rather an attempt to create buzz by specifically using a popular iPhone 8 mockup based on part leaks. We confirmed McDonald’s didn’t reach out to the creator of the mockup to specifically ask permission to use it.
I don’t think McDonald’s s has any insight on the iPhone 8. Nonetheless, its decision to use Geskin’s mockup does suggest the company’s powers-to-be are fairly confident this is the design Apple has chosen for its next flagship device.
Hopefully, we’ll hear soon. Apple is likely to unveil the 5.8-inch iPhone 8 alongside the so-called “iPhone 7s” and “iPhone 7s Plus” next month.
