MiniWiki for Apple Watch Updated With Random Article Feature and More
Arriving earlier this year, MiniWiki is a great way to bring the knowledge of Wikipedia to Apple Watch.
Read a Random Article
The unofficial client allows users to search for a subject with voice dictation or scribble. The articles look great on the watch and you can scroll through the information by using the Digital Crown or swiping up or down on the screen.
Users can select the Nearby section to view any Wikipedia articles regarding your current location.
There is also quick access to view the most currently read articles on the site.
And the app has just received its first major update.
A highly-requested feature, users can now set the language for the app independent of the Apple Watch itself.
As you could probably tell by the name, the Random Article option will bring up a random entry.
Also, if you attempt to read an article in a selected language and it’s not available, it will bring up an English version.
MiniWiki is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
You can unlock the MiniWiki Pro option with a pay what you want in-app purchase of $1.99, $2.99, or $4.99. That will allow you to download articles to read offline, the ability to switch to the iPhone, and to bookmark an article to read later on your phone or watch.
