NBC Joins a Growing List of Networks Using Apple's Single Sign-On

Connected Theater
June 27, 2017

NBC now supports Apple’s single sign-on standard on iOS devices. Previously, the NBC app only supported this functionality on Apple TV.

First introduced in September, the single sign-on feature allows you to enter cable or satellite credentials in one place and access all of the available apps in your subscription package.

To get started with single sign-on on your iPhone or iPad, visit Settings > TV Provider on the device.

To setup the functionality on your fourth-generation Apple TV, go Settings > Accounts > TV Provider.

NBC is the second of the “big four” U.S. networks to support Apple’s single sign-on feature through both iOS and Apple TV, joining ABC.

Fox (through its FoxNow app) only supports the feature on Apple TV, while CBS doesn’t support the feature anywhere at this time.

You can see an up-to-date list of providers and apps that support this feature via the Apple website.
