New Control Options Arriving on the YouTube App
The YouTube app for iOS is gaining a number of new control features starting today.
First up, the video app is now sporting a more streamlined player page. The closed caption toggle has been moved directly on the video player for easier access. The autoplay toggle has also been moved to make it easier to turn on or off while viewing videos.
Other improvements include re-arranged buttons and faster controls.
New gestures now make it easier to enter and exit full-screen video mode. Just swipe up to enter full-screen mode and swipe down to exit. Just tap the time stamp to toggle back between showing time elapsed and time counting down.
The app now also features suggested actions. For example, the app will suggest you rotate your phone for a better viewing experience.
All of the changes are rolling out to users now. The YouTube app is a free download on the App Store.
