Pok Pok Playroom is a Digital Wonderland for Children
Developer Snowman has been behind some of the best games on the App Store like Alto’s Adventure, Where Cards Fall, and Skate City.
The developer is branching out in a new direction. Earlier this month, it announced a new creative studio – Pok Pok – focusing on play-based learning experiences for kids. The studio’s new game, the aptly named Pok Pok Playroom, arrived last week.
Designed for kids 2-6, the app is created as a digital playroom filled with educational toys that spark open-ended play with experimentation and exploration.
The app is well designed and perfect for children. After starting the app, there are six icons each representing the play areas in the app. Kids can select one and start having fun.
There is something for every type of child. They can select toys like a drawing pad or other fun interactive areas like a town or a section filled with gadgets with buttons that can be pushed and manipulated.
All of the areas feature great sound effects and brightly colorful environments. To move between the environments, kids just need to push a large icon on the top left side of the screen.
While both of my children have outgrown these types of apps, I’ve really enjoyed seeing what Pok Pok has put together. It’s the type of app that parents can give their kids knowing its safe and will help them play and learn at the same time.
Pok Pok Playroom is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
You’ll need a subscription to use all of the app’s features. There are two options—$3.99 per month or $29.99 annually.
There is a two-week free trial. New toys will be added regularly to the app.
