In an upcoming update, the popular Pokémon Go will take full advantage of Apple’s ARKit in iOS 11 with an aptly named new AR+ mode.

A look at the new AR+ Mode.

A look at the new AR+ Mode.

When using AR+ mode in the game, Pokémon are now fixed to a specific point. That means you’ll be able to walk up directly to a creature and see how big they’d be in the real world.

Pokémon will also be fully aware of trainers. If they notice you’re getting too close, the will run away. You can tap tall grass nearby to possibly have the Pokémon reappear.

But if you’re able to catch a Pokémon when nearby, yo can also receive a special Expert Handler bonus that will provide more Stardust and XP.

Pokémon Go is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store now for free. You’ll need to have iOS 11 installed to use the AR+ mode.
