Celebrate Pokémon Go's First Anniversary With Fun New Game Additions

In May, Pokémon Go and Ingress developer Niantic announced a new partnership with the Knight Foundation. During a number of community events across the United States, gamers are able to interact with special features.

At last month’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), Apple introduced the company’s new ARKit for iOS 11. The API is all about augmented reality and is designed for developers to bring AR features to both the iPhone and iPad starting this fall. At one of the WWDC sessions, Apple showcased a clip from Pokémon Go using the iOS 11 ARKit.

More Pokémon Go features should also arrive in the coming months, as TouchArcade explains:

We’re still awaiting the debut of Legendary Pokemon in the game, and even though Niantic have dropped numerous hints that they will eventually appear in Pokémon Go, I still don’t have a Zapdos in my roster of creatures and that’s never a good thing. Furthermore, Pikachu has had his or her fair share of hats over the past year in Pokémon Go, with both Christmas and Birthday attire releasing for the rodent since the game’s launch.

After launching last summer, Pokémon Go grabbed almost $1 billion in revenue before the end of 2016. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.
