Reclaim Your Instagram Experience With The OG App
UPDATE (9/28): The OG App has been removed from the App Store. The developers announced the news in a Twitter thread.
Some of the best ways to experience social networks like Reddit and Twitter are through third-party clients.
Instagram, Your Way
Instead of the official Reddit or Twitter app, you’ll be much happier with something like Apollo or Tweetbot.
Even so, there’s never been a better choice to use for Instagram. Anyone wanting to enjoy the network had to wade through ads, suggested posts, and other not-so-great features for anyone wanting to just enjoy images.
But The OG App is here and provides a top-notch and clutter free Instagram experience.
First noticed by TechCrunch, the app offers a host a ways to better customize Instagram for you.
Probably the best feature is that the app removes ads and all suggested posts so you can see the post and stories that you want to see. That’s a big change from the official app.
You can also choose to eliminate other parts of the official app—Reels and the explore page—for less distractions.
Another great option is the ability to disable feed updates for 24 hours so you can focus on what’s in the app instead of missing out on something new. With that, you can still see all the posts that have been downloaded to the app.
And that’s far from all. To better customize what you see, it’s possible to use the app and create custom feeds. With those, you can create lists with for specific subjects like sports or celebrities.
If you don’t know where to get stated, there are hundreds of publicly curated custom feeds. It’s also possible to share feeds with friends and family.
You can download The OG App now on the App Store for free.
Along with the iPhone, the app is even available on the iPad, something the official Instagram app has yet to do in almost 12 years of existence on the App Store.
