Up Ahead is a Perfect Way to Countdown to Your Important Events

Getting started with the app is easy, just create your first event. You can add a date, time, category icon, and color.

After adding in enough events, you can se everything in a unique timeline format that shows how much time is passing between events. It can also provide a look back at everything that has passed.

Once your timeline grow, you an unlock different fun patterns that can be applied to the events in the timeline and home screen widgets. For example, you’ll unlock one new pattern after creating three events.

And speaking of widgets, there are a wide variety to select from. A Coming Up widget is available in multiple sizes and will show your next event. Each one can be customized with different filters and display names. A Countdown widget will simply show how long until the next event.

There are also simplified versions of those widgets for your lock screen with iOS 16.

Other great features include Siri Shortcuts, iCloud sync with other devices, and the ability share events.

To unlock all of the app’s features, you’ll need a subscription to Up Ahead Plus. That’s $1.49 per month or $9.99 yearly. You can also unlock the features for the lifetime of the app for $29.99.

Subscribers can add unlimited events, multi-day events, and recurring events. You can also add any pattern you discover to any event. Other features include the Up Next homescreen widget, four additional color themes, and 16 alternate app icons.

While I’ve previously seen other countdown timers, Up Ahead is the first one I really want to keep and use on a daily basis. The widgets are a unique way to spice up your home screen.

The app is well designed, easy to use, and is full of charm. It’s a perfect way to celebrate fun milestones.
