Another familiar name may soon be unveiling its own smart speaker. According to information uncovered by Zatz Not Funny, a recent FCC filing by Sonos mentions a voice controllable speaker.

Here’s the exact wording in the filing:

The EUT is 802.11 a/b/g/n (HT20) Client Device. Product model S13 is a high-performance all-in-one wireless smart speaker and part of Sonos’ home sound system. S13 adds integrated voice control functionality with far field microphones. Moreover, the device will support multiple voice platforms and music services, allowing customers to effortlessly control their music on Sonos.

By far the most interesting detail is the support for more than one voice platforms. Sonos is already working with Amazon to eventually allow users to control existing speakers with Alexa-powered devices. Currently, there are two other major voice assistants on the market, Google Assistant and Apple’s Siri.

Apple’s HomePod, which was announced back at WWDC, will hit the market sometime in December and retail for $349.

It’s unknown when the Sonos device could arrive.
