The Grid Is Yours, Reclaim It in Rack Up
From Naked Penguin Boy, creators of Dunky Dough Ball and Run The Joint, comes a new arcade puzzle challenge based on the Atari game Qix. In Rack Up, your mission is to cover 80 percent of the game board by building walls. But, you must watch out for aliens who seek to get in your way and wipe out your blocks.
Swiping and covering
With simple swipes, you move in that direction to cover 80 percent of the board. Only unoccupied sections will be covered and you can watch your meter at the top to see how far you have to go. Once you succeed, you will move onto the next level with 40 levels total.
Enemies and power-ups
Wall-crawlers (blue), Bouncers (red), Block-Eaters (green), and Within-Blocks (yellow) are your four enemies who will stop at nothing to destroy you and your walls. You can also grab power-ups you see that include Lightning Fast, Slow Motion, Invincibility Shield, and Lock Enemies.
Lives and losing them
You start with three lives and can obtain two more right off the bat by watching a short video ad. If an alien touches you, you lose a life and will start back at the bottom left corner of the screen. So, watch out for those enemies, move swiftly, and fill that grid.
Rack up is fast, fun, and challenging. It sucks you in by starting off easy, but soon becomes more difficult. The game only allows you to save your progress with a $1.99 in-app purchase, unfortunately. However, if you enjoy it and want to remove the ads as well as add those checkpoints then it would be worth it.
Rack Up is available for free on the App Store and is designed for iPhone and iPad.
