The New Apple TV 4K Features an A15 Bionic Chip, Lower Price
Apple’s big day of hardware introductions also features an upgraded Apple TV 4K.
You won’t be able to see the biggest improvement, an A15 Bionic processor. That provides up to 50 percent faster CPU performance than the previous model. GPU performance is up to 30 percent faster.
Along with Dolby Vision, the upgraded model offers HDR10+ support. The Siri Remote is the same as the previous model with one exception—a USB-C charging port instead of Lightning.
The Apple TV 4K can be purchased now and will arrive on Friday, November 4.
A Wi-Fi only model with 64GB of storage is $129 while a Wi-Fi + Ethernet model is $149.
Smart home fans can also use the model for Matter, a new smart home protocol. The Wi-Fi + Ethernet Apple TV will also support the Thread communication feature.
Apple also announced new features for tvOS 16 landing the fall. A resigned Siri interface will also be able to recognize an individual’s voice for tailored recommendations and quick access to movies, games, and more.
AIrPods users will also be able to control the Apple TV handsfree.
