For fans of AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” as well as those who enjoy The Walking Dead: No Man’s Land and The Walking Dead: Michonne from the wildly popular “The Walking Dead,” comes a new tactical runner. Fear the Walking Dead: Dead Run puts you right into the show as your favorite character with a mission to survive. Run, shoot, and make your way through the fallen city of Los Angeles, California while taking out as many of the infected as you can.
Take out the infected
As you continue to make your way through the dark streets and different areas of the city, tap on the infected to shoot them. If one gets too close, you will need to attack them instead. Continue tapping the attack button to take them down. You can switch between weapons too, just be sure to keep an eye on your ammo.
Survive two game modes
There are currently three episodes to shoot your way through if you play the story mode. Make it through the streets in Sanctuary, escape the high school in School’s Out, and then check out Cobalt, which takes you to the coliseum where the infected have been kept. You can also play in survival mode and complete missions for running a certain distance and eliminating specific amounts of the undead.
Boosts, characters, and weapons
With your earned coins, you can purchase boosts for increasing your bonuses, XP, and distance payouts. You can also use coins to unlock all of the characters: Travis, Nick, Madison, Strand, Daniel, and Chris. Each one has different stats and weapons that you can check out. Or, spend your coins on additional weapons and upgrades. Pistols, rifles, and hatchets are just a click away.
Fear the Walking Dead: Dead Run has dark graphics and intense music. At times you run behind an object and cannot see the infected right in front of you. But, the attack button will light up so you know you must beat them down to continue. Many games like this can be extremely difficult to play, however, this one has easy controls and is perfect for fans of the show.
Fear the Walking Dead: Dead Run is designed for iPhone and iPad. It is available for free on the App Store with in-app purchase options for coins, character and weapon packs, or to unlock the episodes ahead of time.
