The upcoming Ding Dong Delivery offers gamers a Crossy Road-meets-Paperboy experience
You don't need me to tell you that Crossy Road is one of the most enjoyable games to grace the App Store in recent years. And you don't need me to point out that a bunch of titles have borrowed from Crossy Road's gameplay (which, itself, borrowed from the classic Frogger) in order to put an interesting spin on the genre. The latest app to do this is an in-development, upcoming title called Ding Dong Delivery. It might sound like a takeout food service, but it's actually a great-looking game for iOS.
TouchArcade has the news, and notes that the forthcoming game is indeed a Crossy Road-meets-Paperboy kind of experience, featuring a mode of gameplay in which a delivery van needs to fire out fast food in the direction of waiting, hungry customers. You earn coins as you go, and these can be spent in order to continue playing if your delivery round comes to an early finish.
The publication adds:
Also, because Crossy Road has caused every developer to include a laundry list of unlockable characters, you won't just be slinging slices of pizza, but also other foods like noodles and chili.
That sounds good to us!
Though no firm release date for Ding Dong Delivery has been announced, interested iOS device owners can sign-up to partake in the app's beta phase of testing over at the TouchArcade forms. Of course, we'll let you know when the Ding Dong Delivery van pulls into the App Store.
In the meantime, fans of Crossy Road will be pleased to hear that a new game, Disney Crossy Road, is available for iOS users to enjoy. This version sees famous Disney characters, including Mickey himself, attempt to cross the busy roads of Crossy Road. There are more than 100 Disney and Pixar characters to choose from, in fact, and each one has been given a pixelated Crossy Road makeover. You can download this fun title using the link below.
