Ubisoft's Face Up Makes a Guessing Game Out of Selfies
Ubisoft, the game developer and publisher best known for such acclaimed franchises as Rayman and Assassin’s Creed, has just released a new mobile title that makes a game out of many smartphone users’ obsession: selfies.
The game is called Face Up, and it’s probably no coincidence that the name recalls Heads Up. Like Heads Up, Face Up is essentially a social guessing game. But in Face Up, the guessing is focused on players’ moods, expressions, and impersonations as shown in selfies.
Act unnatural
Choose an expression and do your best to act it out in your selfie. It could be as simple as showing your sad face or as complex as becoming your zombie-est self.
Guess and react
Guess the moods and characters expressed in your friends’ selfies and react to the ones you find particularly creative, crazy, or both.
Unlock stickers and play with friends
Earn points in a friendly turn-based battle to unlock new stickers, emojis, and expressions for your selfies. Play with people from around the world online or play with your family and friends — even offline using a single device at meetings and parties.
Have fun with iMessage stickers
Face Up has an iMessage extension that lets you use fun stickers in your conversations. Send stickers on their own, place them on existing messages, or put them on photos.
Face Up is decidedly casual and comparatively noncompetitive. It’s all in good fun: like charades, but with selfies that run the whole gamut of facial expression.
Compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, Face Up is available now on the App Store for free.
