Use the app-enabled Bluetooth tracker Tile to help find your lost iPhone

The tracker can be stuck pretty much anywhere

One of my favorite features of the Apple Watch is its ability to help locate an iPhone when I’ve misplaced it. But you don’t need the wearable device to accomplish the same task.

Bluetooth item trackers have recently become popular as a great way to keep tabs of your stuff – everything from keys to the family pet.

They work by simply attaching to the device you want to keep up with. If it ever gets lost, you can open up a companion app on your iPhone and locate the tracker – as long as it is in range – by causing it to beep with a loud noise.

I previously reviewed the Tile tracker back in early 2015, but it has gotten even better in a second-generation version. Along with tracking items from your phone, you can even find a lost iPhone with the help of the tracker itself. Just double press the Tile, and your phone will loudly ring, even if its on silent. The feature has a range of about 100 feet.

As a nice touch, users can stick a Tile pretty much anywhere thanks to a special adhesive. So the company has recently offered a new video that shows how you can create your own inexpensive find my phone hack.

The Tile is small and can be stuck on a wall or other surface.

That’s a pretty cool idea, and could definitely be a lifesaver when you’ve lost your phone and don’t have another iOS device to use Apple’s Find my iPhone app.

You can purchase a Tile now for $24.95. If you’re interested in purchasing multiple trackers, you’ll be able to save some cash. Four trackers cost $69.95, which equals out to a little more than $17 each.
