Vignette Uses Public Social Media Accounts to Update Contact Photos
The new app Vignette is a privacy-focused way to bring a big improvement to your Contacts.
Instead of looking at big gray circles with initials, the app will search public social media – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Gravatar – to pair your contacts with profile images. For anyone with different social media images, you can even select which one to use.
You won’t have to log in to any social networks for the app to work. Vignette runs entirely on the phone and contacts aren’t transmitted off the handset.
For the app to work its magic, make sure to add as much information to your contacts as possible. Vignette uses that information to find profile images.
Vignette is designed for the iPhone and can be downloaded now on the App Store for free. A $4.99 in-app purchase will allow you to save the images found by the app to your contacts.
