This year’s contest between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots kicks off on Sunday, Feb. 5, at 6:30 p.m. EST. When it comes to watching the big game online, there are a few choices worth considering.
In the United States, FOX owns the television rights to this year’s Super Bowl. To find the game to stream, you’ll need to download the Fox Sports Go app on your iPad and Apple TV. On the Mac, users can watch the game at FoxSportsGo.com.
For iPad, Apple TV, and Mac you don’t need a satellite or cable subscription to watch the game.
If you plan on watching the game on your iPhone or Android-based device, you better be a Verizon Wireless customer. Those subscribers can view the game via the NFL app. For everyone else, your list of choices is limited.
If you are a DirecTV Now subscriber, you can stream the Super Bowl on your iPhone if you live in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Detroit, Gainesville, L.A., Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa, or Washington, D.C.
Sling TV Blue package subscribers can also watch the game live on a limited basis. You must live in Atlanta, Austin, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas-Ft. Worth, Detroit, Gainesville, Houston, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, New York, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Francisco, Tampa or Washington, D.C.
If you’re a PlayStation Vue customer, you can also watch Super Bowl LI, as long as you get a local Fox affiliate with your package. You can use also use the PlayStation Fox Sports Go app.
This year’s Super Bowl is being held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. The Patriots are hoping to secure their fifth Super Bowl title, while the Falcons are hoping for the franchise’s first.
