While not exactly scary as a Stephen King novel, Apple is providing a temporary fix for users running across another annoying autocorrect bug. Some users are finding that the word “it” is autocorrected to “I.T.”

An example of the autocorrect issue.

First reported by MacRumors, the issue doesn’t seem to be as widespread as a similar issue in iOS 11.1.

That issue occurred when users typed the letter “i” on the standard iOS keyboard. Instead of seeing an “i” you’ll see the keyboard autocorrect to the letter “A” with a symbol. It was fixed with the iOS 11.1.1 update.

Apple seems to be offering a temporary fix for the current issue. Users should attempt to reset the keyboard dictionary by going to Settings > General > Reset and then select Reset Keyboard Dictionary. After that, restart the device. Only some issues are reporting success with that fix.

You can also turn off autocorrect completely by going to Settings > General > Keyboard and then toggling off Autocorrect.
