Apple’s App Store is nine years old, and they have announced some brand new changes that are coming to the App Store in iOS 11.

Ever since the App Store came into fruition, Apple has gotten about 500 million weekly visitors to the App Store, with 180 billion apps total downloaded so far. This means $70 billion paid out to developers, and now there will be an even faster app review process, with apps being approved or rejected in under 24 hours. Please keep in mind that this is a partly automated and partly human process.

Additionally, the App Store is getting a new redesign. It will now feature a “Today” view and give you big, colorful cards to scroll through. Games will have its own separate tab now as well, so Apps is separate. In-app purchases can be purchased directly from the App Store now, so you won’t have to dig through the app or game itself to find them. The App Store will also feature stories that cover behind-the-scenes looks at certain games or even how-to articles for specific apps to help you get the most out of them.
