Crossy Road is a hit sensation when it comes to mobile arcade games. Why'd the chicken cross the road? To avoid being dinner, and also to get to the other side. We all know how the nursery rhyme goes, but in this version there is no other side. Sure, you’ll encounter lots of stopping points, but there is no end-all other side. Surprise! It’s an endless game! As you move across the treacherous path the screen moves with you. You know, like the old school Mario games. You stop for too long to contemplate your next move and you’ll be smash by the screen. So the cars, trains and trucks are not your only nemesis. Time is also not on your side. So keep your pace and your wits to get the highest possible score.
Collect and unlock. As you cross the road your only objective is not to just stay alive. Sure, you want to avoid being smashed to bits by passing trucks, trains and cars but, you also want to focus on collecting coins. The coins are fun to collect, make a cute ping noise and add another layer of complexity to the gameplay. However, they also let you expand the game since you can use them to buy new characters. Each new character is not only fun, but changes the games sounds and looks. Suddenly it changes from the chicken crosses the road to a computer crossing the road, or a frog crossing the road. The sounds are different, the entire look shifts, and you’re once more emursed in the same awesome gameplay, but with a whole new look.
Record and share. Crossy Road adds another layer of fun with the FaceTime recording feature. You can literally record yourself playing and since this is such an action packed game you are sure to capture some pretty crazy facial expressions. Once you're done, aka get smashed, you can also share the video to show of your skills, or lack there of.
Characters. You've heard us talk a lot about the cute characters in Crossy Road. Sure you start with the chicken, he's classic and adorable, but the more you play the more you can unlock. Use your coins to play the arcade game in order to win new characters. Then scroll through the list and pick which one you want to take your chance with. The characters in color are the ones you have, but you can see there are many to unlock giving you another reason to keep crossing that road.

Crossy Road is a modernized Frogger that everyone today can enjoy. It's cute, charming, and collecting all of the characters is a blast in itself. It has major arcade elements that bring you back, but feels fresh with its updated graphics and quick gameplay. It's perfect for hard-core and non-gamers alike to play on a break since doesn't take a lot of time, but you will want to spend a lot of time with since it's so addictive. Even better, the game has some fantastic stickers for iMessage, featuring your favorite characters.
