The Cosmonaut: A Cool Kickstarter Project, From The Guys Who Brought Us "Glif"

March 29, 2011
The Cosmonaut is an interesting stylus for your touch screen device, and it's currently in its Kickstarter phase of development. Currently, "backers" can pre-order their own Cosmonaut by donating absolutely anything to the Kickstarter project. Essentially, Cosmonaut is a "wide grip stylus" for any touch screen device - including the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch. It works great with any app you can think of, and is perfectly suited to drawing apps and notepad apps - like SketchBook Pro or Penultimate. The idea behind Cosmonaut is simple: Its inventors - who also brought us Glif - thought about how we write on devices like the iPad, and realized that the experience is more like writing on a whiteboard, than writing on a piece of paper. (This is because, like a whiteboard's surface, the iPad's screen can't be touched by your palm when writing on it.) For this reason, Cosmonaut's inventors decided to create a stylus that was more like a whiteboard marker, than a normal sized pen or pencil. If you visit Cosmonaut's Kickstarter webpage, you'll see that the accessory looks really good. And, what's more, there's no minimum amount backers have to pay in order to get themselves a Cosmonaut stylus. You can pay any amount, and - provided Cosmonaut hits its $50,000 target - you'll receive a stylus in the mail once they've been manufactured. Sound good? I think so, too - which is why I've already backed Cosmonaut. You can, too, by heading over to the accessory's Kickstarter webpage.
