Apple Updates iTunes U For iOS With Better Note-Taking, Improved Search And More
July 26, 2012
In what has been another huge day for updates from Cupertino, Apple has also thrown in, for good measure, an update to iTunes U for iOS today.
Of course, foremost among today's round of updates from Apple is the release of OS X Mountain Lion, the latest version of the popular Mac operating system.
Apple's iWork apps for Mac and iOS have also been updated to support Documents in the Cloud, which is one of the features introduced in OS X Mountain Lion.
And then there's the bug-squashing update to the company's standalone podcasting app for iOS, simply called Podcasts.
The iOS version of iTunes U, Apple's own online university of sorts, has also been updated with a number of enhancements.
When the app launched last January, it already allowed for note-taking on lectures. Now, through the app's latest update, iTunes U has also enabled note-taking while watching or listening to a lecture.
The update also improves the app's search function, enabling it to search within posts, assignments, notes, and materials from subscribed courses.
In addition, the update facilitate sharing of courses via Twitter, Mail, or Messages.
You can update to the latest version of iTunes U now for free. Or download the same in the App Store also for free.
It's not included in the update's release notes in the App Store, but according to AllThingsD, the update also lets teachers publish private courses directly to iTunes U.
