Do You Really Know The Way To San Jose? Find Out With Guess Your Songs

How well do your really know your iTunes library? With the new Guess Your Songs app, you’ll get to find out.
At its heart, the app takes it cue from the classic Name That Tune game. In each round, you get the chance to listen to a very short song clip and select one of the three possible choices. If you guess correctly, you win points and unlock achievement badges. At the end of each round, you can also listen to the song, challenge friends to take a guess, and then move onto the next round.
You can also connect with others by using Facebook Connect in the app to access challenges, scores, achievements, and community gameplay modes. The game also has a dedicated Facebook app and website to allow for play away from your iOS device.
Guess Your Songs is also a great way to discover new music. Each song in the app can be downloaded via an iTunes link. And each time you influence a music purchase through public or head-to-head challenges, the chance to win free prizes, like music, increases.
If you listen to a lot of streaming music and don’t have many songs stored on your iOS device, the app doesn’t leave you out. The community section features music from other users of the app to guess.
There are two versions of the universal app available for download in the App Store. Guess Your Songs is the free version while the $1.99 Guess Your Songs Deluxe provides an ad-free experience and automatically unlocked upgrades.
I had fun playing the app, and I was surprised how many times I was stumped by my own music. I think it would be a fun game to play with friends and family on tomorrow’s Fourth of July holiday in the United States.
And I definitely like this type of music app more than the recent Let’s Sing that makes a user butcher (I mean hum) their way through a tune for someone else to guess.
