That's So Meta! IM+ Pro Introduces Metacontacts Plus iCloud Sync

July 24, 2012
Following its big Retina iPad graphics optimization early last month, IM+ Pro has today received another update that's functionally bigger. For starters, the popular instant messaging app has once again added more social networks to its roster of IM services. No surprise there, since the past few months alone saw the addition of Odnoklassniki.ru, Renren, Sina Weibo, Mamba.ru, and Fetion. This time, IM+ Pro welcomes MeinVZ and Gadu-Gadu. The former is a Berlin-based social network geared toward students, while the latter is a Polish chat client. The latest update to IM+ Pro introduces a notable new feature that should make organizing contacts across various social networks considerably easier. This feature lets you merge multiple accounts of a certain contact into one "metacontact." Metacontacts are among the types of data that are synced across your iOS devices if you enable iCloud sync, another new significant feature of the app. In addition to metacontacts, app settings, accounts data, favorites, and browser bookmarks are also synced via iCloud. IM+ Pro is available as a universal app in the App Store for $9.99. Note that, beginning with this version aka IM+ Pro 7.0, the app is compatible with iOS 4 or later only. No surprise there, as we're already nearing the official release of iOS 6.
